History of renaissance
Renaissance means "rebirth". This is a period in the European civilization which follows the middle ages. This movement is characterized by a zoom in the interest of classical learning and its values. The Renaissance age was dominated by many changes and discoveries. New continents being explored, the feudal system declined, commerce developed, and invention of items such as paper, the mariner's compass, gunpowder and printing also marked the rebirth age. The scholars were of the view that the period of Renaissance was marked by the resurgence of classical learning and understanding after a lengthy period of ethnical fall and stagnation.

Famous painters
The works of an artist can be sculpture, writing, music and painting. Artist does not work as a team. He cannot communicate his work to others. And if the work is done in groups then the question of ownership arises. Thus artist do not work in unison and they are often innovative.
Renaissance art developed with the artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo. It was Leonardo da Vinci who brought in most of the changes in painting during this period.

Famous paintings
The Last Supper is the most prominent paintings of Leonardo da Vinci from a collection of his 30 plus pieces of art work. The painting depicts terror on the faces of the twelve men whom Christ had gathered. He had called them to tell them that one among the 12 people was to deceive him before the sun rises. This is a huge painting of 15x29 feet. This painting covers the entire wall of the dinning hall of a convent in Milan. His second famous painting was Mona Lisa.
